JGS Joy of Giving Something...
Joy of Giving Something, Inc. (JGS) is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to encouraging aesthetic reflection about present realities and future possibilities.

Among its programs, JGS supports and participates in publications about contemporary photography; publishes its own artist-edited journal, Witness; and produces documentary DVDs that showcase today’s photographers at work.

JGS makes its photographs available to the public by:

-lending works to major museums around the world
-curating and circulating an affordable series of “corridor exhibitions” for smaller museums
-and presenting its newest and largest program, the on-line Forward Thinking Museum.

Launched in 2007, the Forward Thinking Museum draws from JGS’s collection of contemporary photographs, presenting floor after virtual floor of permanent exhibitions, offering insights by today’s artists into emerging issues and trends. Also on view are videos on demand in the JGS Theater and select exhibitions from bricks-and-mortar museums, including The Museum of Modern Art, International Center of Photography, the Corcoran Gallery, and the Musée de l’Elysée in Lausanne, etc.

Joy of Giving Something, Inc., was established in 1998 and is a 501 (c) 3 corporation.
